Turn a CSV or Excel file into an org chart
Paste a staff list or drop a .csv or .xlsx file to see an org chart preview right away. The converter recognises common English, German and French headers for names, job titles, departments and managers. Check the detected columns, then open the chart in the editor to make changes. It is free to try and needs no signup.

- Name: Name
- Job title: Job title
- Department: Department
- Manager: Manager
Live preview
Your pasted text and uploaded file are parsed in this browser to create the preview. They are not sent to our server for previewing. When you choose Open in the editor, the chart is saved as a browser draft so the editor can load it.
Column names the converter recognises
A name column is required. Manager is optional, but it is what creates reporting lines. Header matching ignores capitals, spaces, accents and punctuation.
- Name: Name, Full name, Employee, Mitarbeiter, Vollständiger Name, Nom complet
- Job title: Title, Job title, Position, Stellenbezeichnung, Poste
- Manager: Manager, Reports to, Supervisor, Vorgesetzte(r), Führungskraft, Responsable
- Department: Department, Team, Division, Abteilung, Bereich, Service
Export from your spreadsheet or HR system
In Google Sheets, choose File → Download → Comma-separated values (.csv) for the current sheet, or Microsoft Excel (.xlsx). In most HR systems, export the employee directory as a CSV or Excel workbook. Include one person per row and a manager or reporting-to column; the importer can match other headers in the full import step.
Your data stays in this browser for the preview
The preview uses the same browser-side CSV/XLSX reader and import builder as the import page. The preview itself does not upload your file or paste. Opening the chart in the editor stores it as a local browser draft; if you sign in and save it, the editor can then store it in your account.
Review column matching
In the full importer, you can change detected columns and include additional fields.
CSV to org chart questions
How do I turn a CSV into an org chart?
Paste the CSV text or drop a .csv or .xlsx file. The tool detects name, title, department and manager columns and shows a preview. Choose Open in the editor to edit the chart.
Which columns do I need?
A name column is required. Add a manager, Reports to or Supervisor column to create reporting lines. Job title and department are optional and appear on the chart cards.
Can I use a flat list without managers?
Yes. For a flat staff list, the preview groups people by department when there are departments to group. You can change the structure in the editor.
Does it support Excel files?
Yes. Drop an .xlsx workbook as well as a .csv file. The reader picks the most likely sheet and header row for the preview.
Is my staff data uploaded?
No, the preview parses pasted text and files in your browser. When you open the editor, the chart is saved to a browser draft so it can be opened there.
Can I adjust a column the tool matched incorrectly?
Yes. Open the full importer to review and adjust the detected column mapping before importing.
