What makes an org chart easy to read

One reporting line per person

Use solid lines for the main manager and a dotted line only where a second manager really exists.

Group by team, not by seniority

Teams that sit together read faster than a chart sorted by title.

Show open positions

Mark vacancies so the chart shows where the organisation is hiring, and not only who is there today.

Keep one date on it

An org chart goes stale. Re-import the list when people change and note the date you shared it.
