Prepare the chart
Open a blank chart or a company template, enter each person and role, then connect each person to their direct manager. Use departments to add color and a dotted-line manager when someone reports to a second lead. Check the chart at the size it will appear in the document.
Insert a chart into Word
For a broadly compatible document, export a PNG and use Word’s Insert Picture command. The PNG export is fixed at 2× resolution; there is no size setting. Free PNG exports carry a watermark. Then set the picture layout to In Line with Text or another wrapping option that fits the page. PDF works well when the chart should remain a separate, printable page; SVG (Project Pass or Pro) can retain vector sharpness where your Word version supports it.
Export formats and plan access
mivochart exports charts to PNG and PDF. SVG, editable PowerPoint (PPTX) and single-department or subtree exports need Project Pass or Pro. Free PNG and PDF exports carry a watermark. CSV is a data export for spreadsheet workflows, not a chart image for Word. mivochart does not create a .docx file.
